After sitting in a cramped airplane seat for the past 6 hours, I was relieved when the plane finally landed in Honolulu. My name is Lee Bennett; I’m 18 years old and a freshman at the University of Washington. It was Spring Break; my buddies and I thought it would be fun to visit Hawaii.
I was the first one off the plane; I leaned against one of the poles and waited for the others to deplane. Kevin was first, followed soon after by the twins David and Stephen. As I’d expected, Stephen looked a little green around the gills. “I gather the pills weren’t very helpful?”
“Nope, in the slightest,” Stephen said as he took a few deep breaths. “How about you? How’d you do during the flight?”
“Let me tell you; flying while you have restless leg syndrome isn’t fun. Thankfully the pills took a little bit of the edge off; just enough where it was somewhat tolerable.”
Coming up next to his brother, David said, “Come on; you guys can compare stories in the cab. I want to get to the hotel to scope out the girls.”
Kevin nodded in agreement as the four of us headed towards the baggage claim. None of us could know how life-altering this trip would be.
