You just turn red and nod. Totally humiliated, you don't know what else to do. A girl, half your age, has just asked if you has an accident in your pants. And much worse, the answer is yes.
She however, knows exactly what to do in this situation. Taking you gently by the hand, Sarah leads you to her mother in the kitchen.
"Mommy." She say's.
"Yes Sarah?" Ms Thompson asks without turning for her work.
"The boy had an accident." Comes the answer.
"What?" Ms Thompson asks. Turning on the spot to look at you. "Oh, Daniel. What happened? She doesn't wait for the obvious answer. "You'd better get in the shower."
"Are you going to put him in a diaper?" Sarah asks. "You make me wear a diaper when I have an accident."
"No Sarah." Ms Thompson replies. "He's a big boy."
"But I'm a big girl." She argues.
You leave the two to their argument and get into the shower.
You return to your room to find Ms Thompson waiting.
"I'm afraid we have a problem Daniel." She starts. "Sarah still wets the bed and has occasional daytime accidents. She wears training pants at night but if she wets them then she has to wear diapers for the next 3 nights. If she has a daytime accident I make her wear diapers for the rest of the day and all of the following day. It's to remind her that big girls go to the toilet when they need to."
"What does this have to do with me?" You ask, afraid that you already know the answer.
She picks up something white from the top of the chest of drawers. You realise that, as you feared, it is a diaper.
"She thinks that it's unfair if I don't do the same to you." Ms Thompson explains. "It'll make things easier for me if you wear a diaper. You, me and Sarah will be the only ones who know about the diaper and your accident. Sarah as agreed to not tell anyone else if you wear a diaper."
