As Renny stood in line, she noticed that her feet were hurting. It felt like they were cramped or something, which was very odd. Renny had stopped growing since middle school and had the same pair of shoes for 2 years. Maybe she grabbed her sister's by mistake. Nope these were size 7, her size. What could be the problem?
"Well why not walk around barefoot? I do it all the time. It's very liberating. Plus I think-" Continued Varie.
"Next!" Interrupted the lunch lady.
Renny got the usual chicken nuggets and fries, making sure to grab two bottles of orange juice. Her aching head was making her a bit dizzy, she quickly sat down at the table and began eating. The food tasted odd for some reason today. Normally the nuggets were juicy and tender, today it was like eating crap. She spit them out on the table. Varieo, who had just sat down to eat, noticed his friend's sudden dislike of the food.
"What's the matter? You love chicken nuggets."
"I don't know. They just taste...bad for some reason."
He reached and grabbed one off her plate, taking a small bite. "They're perfectly fine to me."
"I think I'm sicker than I thought..." She grabbed her head.
There was a moment of silence followed by a loud "RIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!" Renny felt a slight breeze in her shoes and looked down. Somehow, her toes had literally ripped through her sneakers! Verieo looked at her with increasing concern.
"Did you just rip your pants or something? Are you alright Renny?"
Renny began to panic and stood up. "I-I'm fine, I-I just g-gotta...go to the bathroom. Y-yea. Save my seat."
She hurried out of sight and into the girls room. Thankfully, no one was in the bathroom leaving her free to tear the remainder of her shoes off. Even her socks had somehow been ripped through. Her feet were looking enormous! She was breathing heavily now, leaning over the sunk. An unbearable heat filled her, like she was in a sauna. Little did she know, a small little nub appeared on her lower spine.
