Instinctively Clark tried to shield himself with his hands, despite knowing that it would be pointless. He waited for the effects of the kryptonite to take hold...but nothing happened.
Lois and Professor Jameson were too busy speaking with one another to notice Clark's little moment. A bit confused, Clark began to check to see if there were any effects. He didn't feel any different at all, so it was not poisonous to him like Green Kryptonite. He didn't feel any aggressiveness or unrestrained emotions like the Red Kryptonite. He was still able to see through walls with his X-ray vision, so his powers seemed unaffected. For now he seemed perfectly normal...for a super powered alien, that is.
"So what effects would this kryptonite have on Superman?" Clark heard Lois asked the Professor.
"I'm afraid we won't know until we actually expose it to him, but I for one am not willing to do such a thing." Professor Jameson replied, not knowing that he already did.
