The self enchantment seemed a bit hokey. Not that James was an untrustworthy man, but magic was not something to fool around with especially if it involved using your own body. She would get an enchantment to an object...but she didn't have anything of value to enchant. Which meant there was only one option.
"Mr. Cordell, do you happen to have any new and interesting items for sale?"
"New and interesting items you say? Hmmm," He stroked his beard in thought. "Ah, I know! Wait a moment, it's in the back."
He spun around into the back of the store leaving Sarah to drum her fingers on the counter. Eventually after several crashes, he returned with something wrapped up in a piece of cloth. A smile filled his face.
"We just got this in, traded by a strange traveler from distant lands. Take a look."
He unraveled the cloth and displayed the covered item to Sarah. It was an idol. A strange two headed monster carved in stone. It was shiny and black, like it had been well preserved despite looking like it was from ancient times. Four ruby eyes sparkled in Sarah's own eyes.
"Odd isn't it? Of course I have no idea what it does. No one seems to. That's why we're selling it for so cheap. What do you say?"
