Putting a delicate finger to her lip, Sarah thought for a moment. She had scoured the shop dozens of times before, as Mr. Cordell kindly pointed out. Though a few meager trinkets sparked her interest, nothing ever truly seemed to grab her. And the only new thing was...
"That sign." She said, pointing at the overhead advertisement behind the counter. "Enchanting the self? What's that about?"
James Cordell sighed and continued buffing his counter top, beginning to speak like he had explained it one hundred times already to her. "That's just some new thing. Apparently there's some word about enchantments done on the self by tauren. You know, like body art. Supposedly they grant the afflicted boosts in strength, knowledge, or what have you."
"Does it work?"
"Hell if I know, no one's been crazy enough to try it. It's a Horde thing after all."
The usual voice in her head that would have started to yell 'This is a bad idea!' about now was being ignored. Sarah was bored, classes had become the same dull routine. Even the once magnificent luster of Stormwind had lost much of its charm. Nothing seemed to sate her boredom. She needed something new, something exciting, something possibly dangerous. Nothing out of that sentence sounded safe, but for some reason she was even more intrigued.
"I...I think I might be interested..."
Mr. Cordell seemed almost taken aback. "What? Did you lose a bet or something?"
"N-no! Just...It sounds unique is all..."
"Right...Unique. Well, not exactly my choice of words but I suppose it's your decision kid. Shall I show you the designs?"
She nodded her head. Cordell sighed and reached underneath the counter. He pulled up on the counter top a big black dusty tome. Flipping open the pages, Sarah could tell that this was an ancient text written in a language she couldn't quite understand. Elfish perhaps? Eventually Cordell flipped to a page with several designs of them. They looked like fancy body art pictures.
"What do they do?" She asked.
"Don't know. That's why no one's been too keen on trying to get one. It's all a big mystery, the only thing I have to go on is the shape of the art."
Sarah bit her thumb and flipped through the pages. They truly were beauty works of art, the way the lines seemed to dance around on the page. She browsed for several minutes eventually coming across one design that really caught her eye. It was one of...
