Someone created a bottle of candy that can turn a normal human into a dragon!
This choice: "I think I'm okay, don't call."  •  Go Back...
Chapter #6

"I think I'm okay, don't call."

    by: Unknown
"I think I'm okay, don't call 911," Lucas said. He climbed up using the couch and Mark's grip, and sat down. "I don't know what happened."

Mark stared at the tail. "Uh, dude, you have a tail."

Lucas felt bizarrely calm about having a tail, whereas a normal, sane person would probably freak out. "Yeah, I noticed. Hey, eyes up here, bub," he joked.

"Sorry, it's just... you have a tail. Like, is this even possible? Well, of course it's possible, it just happened, but, I mean..." Mark blathered on.

Mark's sister, Julia, entered the room. "What was all that noise? I heard a bunch of screaming and something about 911? Are you guys okay?" The moment Julia saw the tail, she glared at it, and then the bottle on the coffee table. "Lucas, that's mine!" She rushed over and pocketed the bottle. "Who said you could touch my stuff?"

Lucas pointed to Mark. "Um, he did it." Mark replied with a nasty look. "Hey, you said you'd take responsibility."

Mark changed the subject. "Where did you even get these, Julia? And why does he have a tail?"

Julia dodged the last question. "I got them online. They're supposed to be, uh, friendship candy. I was going to take the red one, and my, uh, friend was going to take the blue one, but Lucas had to go and eat one of mine."

"That doesn't explain why I have a tail," Lucas said. "Also, what's the difference with the candies? Couldn't you just like, split one or something?"

Julia tapped her forehead. "No, that's not how it works, and... I don't know what to do about you. You're supposed to eat ten of one pill, and now I've only got nine left." She thought about it for a moment. "Okay, it's your lucky day, Lucas. You get to be enlightened. Mark, you don't get to be, so go away."

Mark laughed. "Yeah, right, like my best friend would hang out with you, instead of me."

Lucas looked at Julia. He felt a compulsion to hear her out, at least. "I don't know, Mark, let's at least hear what she has to say about it."

Mark took that personally. "Dude, no. We're not hanging out with my sister, nor are we talking with her. Especially if I don't get to hear."

"Come on, if it's really cool I'll tell you about it." Mark spent a second thinking about it and reluctantly agreed and left the room.

Julia whispered to Lucas, "You have to promise me that you'll never tell anyone. Not even Mark. You can't tell a soul! This could get me into huge trouble."

"Okay, I promise. What is it?" Lucas was ready to absorb some information. He was also ready to break a promise.

"All right. These pills work like this: eating the red pills makes you a girl dragon, and eating the blue pills makes you a guy dragon. Now, you've already eaten one of my girl pills, but if you take nine of these blue pills then you should be good. Then, I'll still have a 90%/10% girl/guy ratio thing going on. You know, 10% isn't that much, right?"

Lucas was taken aback by this. Girl pills? That probably wasn't too good for his system. "Wait, did you say dragon? How's that even possible?"

"That's not the point." Julia waved her hand at that. "You can be a dragon if you take these pills. What do you say?"

It was all very odd to Lucas. On one hand, she could just be pulling a fast one over his head. On the other hand, he did have a tail. And being a dragon would be pretty cool...

"What about Mark?" Lucas asked. "I want him to be cool with it, too. You know, we could be dragon buddies or something. It'd be sweet."

Julia was hesitant. "I don't know, I'm not sure..." She did feel guilty about how she would be breaking up her brother and his friend's friendship. "Well, I guess I can just order another bottle and wait for that one. But then won't he get the girl pills? That'd be hilarious!"

Lucas thought about that. He didn't want to be the girl, but it would be unfair to give Mark them, as well. Maybe he could lie. Maybe he could split it 50/50. Maybe he could flip a coin, or take one for the team. Or maybe he could just leave him out altogether. There were a lot of choices, but the main choice was going a choice between...

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Letting Mark know and join

2. Keep Mark out of the loop

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
