Fireheart crept up on Tigerpaw from the shadows, he had been watching with both interest and horror...
"Tigerpaw!" Shouted Fireheart, making the younger apprentice jump in fear and surprise.
It was then, Fireheart noticed, that there was an unfamiliar glint in his eyes.
Fireheart looked closer, his blood turned cold.
"Yes, little fire, it is i, Tigerstar, i have come back for my revenge, see how Vulnerable his life can be, i am his granfather, but now, i have returned, beware kittypet, you won't be deputy for long, and you will never be leader, i will make absolutely sure about that..."
There was a hostile, yet silky voice in the air that seemed to come from the shadows, whispering to Fireheart, making him rooted to the spot where he now stood in absolute fear. Fireheart knew that voice, it was his old nemises, Tigerstar...
"Y-Yes, Fireheart?" Tigerpaw said to Fireheart, who shook his head in denial, NO! i did not hear that, did i?
"Why did you kill him?" Fireheart demanded, yet some part of him knew....
His sister was murdered... Fireheart thought.
"He killed my Sister!!!!!!!" Shouted Tigerpaw. "I managed to not kill the other ones, but this one," Tigerpaw was seething with rage as he looked upon the warrior he killed in revenge. "he did NOT deserve to live! He killed my sister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The young and deeply troubled apprentice said, tears and fury in his round eyes.
"You killed him in revenge for your lost sister, does that make you any better than he was in his life?" said a calm, familiar voice.
Fireheart turned around, Bluestar was comming from the camp, most of the warriors right behind her.
To her right, stood the unforgiving she-cat; Ligerstreak, and behind her, was her mate; Thornburrow.
to Bluestar's left, were two newly named warriors, two that Fireheart didn't like very much: Sandsnake, and her litter mate; Darkstripe.
(I don't own any of these characters, even though i am in the thrid book of the fourth series, i tend to forget names and random ones pop up, sorry...)
"Now, lookie at what we have here," cooed the mean she-cat Ligerstreak, egging Fireheart on, "A poor lost ShadowClan patrol slain by a mis-named Kittypet and his worthless apprentice!" that last voice came from one of Ligerstreak's partner in crime: Sandsnake, she spat the word 'kittypet' as if it were a deadly disease.
"Enough!, Ligerstreak, Sandsnake, go check the forest, make sure that no ShadowClan warriors are here. I do not need your help in the affairs of inward clan safety, that is my job, hence the title and name and nine lives that go with it."
The old Clan leader She-cat paused, waiting for the two troubling She-cats to scurry away, but Fireheart was NOT fooled by Bluestar's soft tone, he could tell, through experience, that the old She-cat was mad beyond beleif, as she had every right to be, there was a double murder in her clan territory.
he cringed a bit, but stood his ground.
"now, without another word from either of you, we will escort you back to camp."
Bluestar said to Fireheart and Tigerpaw, who followed without question.
The rode back to camp was a solemn one, when they arrived back into the hollow through the thorn bushes, they were met with curios eyes of other warriors.
Fireheart smelled their fear scent, they were expecting to fight off any threat of ShadowClan.
but eventually, they calmed down and Bluestar went up to her usual perch when she gave a speech.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join me beneath the High-Rock for a clan gathering!"
Bluestar's voice rang clear across the large clearing that Served as ThunderClan's camp.
Most of the warriors were there already, but the Medicine cat, Silverleaf, and her apprentice, who was blind, Joypaw, came out and sat together.
Ligerstreak and Sandsnake had returned, and then sat next to the Medicine cats, complaining in a whisper that they were always last for something...
"As you may already know," Shouted Bluestar over everyone, "Tigerpaw, Fireheart's apprentice, has killed a ShadowClan warrior and fended off their unjust raid."
She waited for everyone to settle down again and then spoke once more, power still in her voice.
"For that, we will hold a very much needed Warrior Ceremony." She paused, then looked at Fireheart and his apprentice, and spoke:
“Fireheart, Tigerpaw step forth.” She said.
Fireheart and Tigerpaw did as they were told.
But something was lurking in the shadows, it had eyes, and it was a massive tabby, barely visible, but without opening its massive jaws, it spoke, directly to Fireheart as so it seemed:
“Beware Kittypet! I will have my revenge through him!”
“Fireheart!” Bluestar’s meow jerked him back to reality.
“Yes, Bluestar?” Fireheart addressed the ThunderClan leader.
“Do you feel that Tigerpaw is worthy of Warriorship?”
“Yes, I do. He has trained hard and been through so much, I believe he deserves being a Warrior than most here do.” Fireheart replied truthfully.
A few murmurs of ‘favoritism’ and ‘dis-loyalty’ broke out, but were quickly silenced by a hard stare from Bluestar.
“I see.” The leader said. Then she addressed Tigerpaw:
Bluestar looked up at the Sky.
“StarClan, I address you as Bluestar, 32nd leader of ThunderClan, I call upon you to look down on this apprentice and accept him into your ranks, he will, as of tonight, become a full member of ThunderClan, may you see this and be pleased.” Bluestar recited the forest old ritual for a Warrior Ceremony.
“Tigerpaw, step forth below the High-Rock,” The apprentice did as he was told.
“You have trained hard in your youth, your apprentice-ship has taught you humbleness, loyalty and friendship, these are the traits of a Great leader, and they are also what define you, correct?”
“Yes Ma’am. They do.” Tigerpaw said, bowing his head in respect.
“Tigerpaw, do you swear to uphold and protect the rules of the Warrior Code and to defend your clan with loyalty and your absolute best effort even at the cost of your life?”
“I do, Bluestar.” Tigerpaw said, bowing his head once more.
“Then by the powers of StarClan, I name you Tigerclaw, in honor of your strength, loyalty, and Faith in the service of your clan. We welcomes you as a Full member of ThunderClan.”
There were shouts of support.
“Tigerclaw! Tigerclaw! Tigerclaw!”
the clan shouted over and over again.
“Now, according to tradition, The newly named Warrior; Tigerclaw, must sit a silent vigil and guard the camp for one full night while we sleep peacefully knowing we are safe in Tigerclaw’s watch. Welcome Tigerclaw.”
The meeting was adjourned and every one ate their fill, congratulated the new warrior, and went to their dens and were fast asleep…
