Princess Peach sat in the throne room of her castle, listening to a rather enduring report from Toadsworth on how the kingdom was doing after last months attack from Bowser. It had been a good four hours since Toadsworth started his report and every time it seemed that a conclusion was imminent, he'd recall something he missed and backtrack over what he had said previously. Despite this, Peach sat in her throne, listening patiently, with her hands resting in her lap.
"...And thusly, we should have everything fully repaired in four more days." Toadsworth finished, glancing up from his papers.
The princess shifted in her throne somewhat. "Thank you, Toadsworth... I'm most grateful for your report."
"I'm just doing my duty, your highness!" Toadsworth stated proudly before noticing the princess shifting awkwardly in her throne. "My apologies, your highness... I fear I may have gone on for far too long. All that sitting must be rather uncomfortable. I shall take my leave and allow you time to stretch your legs."
With that being said, Toadsworth gathered up his papers and left the throne room. Peach sighed with relief and slowly eased herself off of her throne. Whilst Toadsworth had prattled on for quite a while, Peach could have easily endured him for many more hours, however, her need for the royal privy made that task rather arduous. Thankfully, it was all over now and she could go about her business before Mario arrived to eat the delicious cake that she had baked for him that day.
As Peach made her way towards the bathroom, a sudden explosion shook the castle causing her to fall to the ground. Peach heard several more explosions and a lot of screaming coming from outside. Peach slowly got up off the floor just as the door behind her blew off of its hinges. Peach spun around to see a cloud of smoke billowing through the doorframe and the shadow of a figure emerging from the smoke…
