The Enterprise D was in orbit around, the planet of Omicron Persei 8. The captain was sitting in his command chair, unusually his finger was tapping nervously on the armrest. "Mr. Data, give me an update."
"The system's main star will go supernova in 5 minutes and 30 seconds. Commander Riker is planting the last of the recorders on the surface. Doctor Crusher is assisting with the injured, while Deanna is assisting in discovering the injured with her empathic abilities. Geordi was also helping with his visor." Suddenly he breaks off his speech, and begins tapping on his console.
"Captain, The implosion is accelerating. It's will go in 2 minutes. We need to beam everybody out immediately, and leave or we will be destroyed."
Captain Picard taps on his comm badge, "Mister O'Brien do you have a fix on the away team?"
"The fix is wavering, captain. We have everybody else beamed up."
"Then beam up the away team."
"Data engage the warp drive, as soon as possible."
The main viewscreen fills with a blinding light, and races towards the enterprise. The ship jumps into warp just ahead of the destructive wave destroys the system, it shudders unevenly as the wave resonates through warp space. Chief O'Brien voice sounds over the bridge system. "Captain we have the away team back..... But there's a problem. The tachyon burst that precedes the light particles must have interfered with the transport captain. I.... I think you need to see this."
"Mr Data you have the bridge straight and steady back to Deep Space Nine." Mr Data wrestles the ship onto a more even keel as the captain takes the turbolift down to transporter room One.
