Now angry, Chris wand in hand, heads into her room, wanting to get this woman out. You follow her, ready to help her with your tech wand at hand. Helena was still there, tearing the bedroom apart, searching for the artifact she had mentioned. You could feel Chris' anger rising and you were happy it was not towards you.
"I don't 'care' who you are or 'what' you're looking for!" raged Chris, startling Helena. "Get out of our house!!"
Helena saw Chris, standing strongly near the door with her wand at the ready. She then saw you beside her with your tech wand in hand. Only you were approaching more cautiously, due to your first encounter with her. "You must be Chris." said Helena, smiling. "I'm looking for..."
"GET OUT!!" shouted Chris.
She then moved her wand in a quick circle before pushing it forward, sending an energy blast the size of a basket ball flying at the intruder. Helena let out a low scream of surprise before raising her hand, the energy blast struck a shield, sending her back a step. Chris was not holding back, as you did, which surprised you. Then, you saw the hand Helena raised, it had a familiar ring on each finger. Seeing the rings, Chris let out a low gasp as she recognized them.
"The Pharaoh's rings!" she whispered, fearfully. "You... You're a 'rogue' witch!"
Helena giggled. "Very clever, girl." she said. "Now you have a better idea of what I want." she rose her hand. "I know you have the last ring, GIVE IT TO ME!!"
Chris took a single step back, gripping something under her blouse, whispering, "Never!"
You remembered Chris was given a special gift on her thirteenth birthday from an old friend of the family. You and Chris only new her as Ms H. The present was a ring on a necklace, the very ring Helena was after.
Helena began to turn red with impatience. "Give me the ring or..."
That was when you had heard enough and caused your own wand to vanish again and hit Helena with an energy blast, throwing her off her feet. She was too preoccupied with your sister to sense it coming but she was up in the next breath, clearly angry with you and her both.
"Have it your way!" she hissed.
She fired a second round of lighting at you only, this time, you were ready for it and defected the blast with a wave of your hand before firing in return. Chris joined in the fight immediately after, firing energy blasts and spells. You then threw in a few 'events', or technological spells into the fight to force Helena to leave. Only she was determined and difficult to keep up with. Unknown to you, she was having a difficult time, fighting against you and your sister as well. Meanwhile, Chris' room was getting completely destroyed.
"I'll have to get my robots to rebuild her room as soon as this is over." you thought. "Mom and dad will freak if they see it like it is now and our secret will be exposed." you paused, then thought, "Or are we just kidding ourselves?"
Both you and Chris were quickly becoming exhausted, neither of you had fought so intensely for so long and you began to worry. Then, for some unknown reason, Helena broke off her attack and vanished from the room.
"This is far from over, brats!" her voice screamed. then, she was gone.
Breathing heavily from the fight, you and Chris slumped against one wall and slid to the floor, happy that you had managed to fight her off, at least for now. "She'll be back, Jan." said Chris, panting. "There are ten of those rings in all, any woman who can assemble them all will be granted incredible magic power."
"It doesn't work on guys?" you asked, curious.
"They will grant a man protection from magic but not the use of it." replied Chris. "The point is, that Helena is a rogue or criminal witch. Rogues are stripped of all their power so not to cause evil again, the Pharaoh's rings will not increase a witch's power but they will restore power to a witch who had lost it."
"So, this Helena and her sister Eva are after to regain their full magical strength." you mused. "Once they achieve that, they will have the power to seek revenge upon those who had incarcerated them."
Chris nodded. "Ms H made me promise to always keep this necklace with me." she said. "I have kept that promise." she then began to tear up. "But if I keep it around my neck with that Helena after it..."
"You'll become a target." you said.
"I'm scared, Jan." said Chris, honestly. "Any suggestions?"
