Sofia exited the cave without noticing Raven.

Raven did everything she could to hold perfectly still and blend into the shadows as Sofia walked past. Soon, she could hear the woman’s footsteps fading away as she neared the cavern exit. Waiting a few moments, Raven cautiously made her own way back to the cave entrance. Peering out across the snow covered landscape, she could see the figure of Sofia in the distance, heading away from the cave and into the surrounding wilderness. Fortunately, with all the footprints of Sofia and her men in the snow, Raven’s own tracks had gone unnoticed. It looked like Raven was safe, for now.

Now that she was no longer in immediate danger, Raven began to think about what had just transpired. It didn’t seem to make sense. Sofia had just acquired a ring that could warp reality itself… and she was about to hand it off to someone for a fee? Moreover, it was easily a three day hike through the wilderness to get back to civilization. Instead of hiking, why didn’t Sofia just use the ring’s power to travel wherever she wanted to go next?

Raven decided it would be best to contact Joey ASAP. Having some backup would be beneficial. Joey might also have some insight that would help unravel Sofia’s motives. However, if she took the time to contact Joey now, she may lose track of Sofia.
