But there was one, a goddess, the goddess of song, who was compassionate and wise. the knew the cause of mans unhappiness. She came to Earth and gave him woman. This goddess, Modi, was the most divine creature that man had ever seen, and he called her queen. Modi was given a palace where the regions meet. She was the ruler. She married a mortal, and gave birth to two daughters. But her mortal body became week, and soon she died. The eldest of the princesses, who could never sing before, suddenly had her mothers talent, and it was believed that the spirit of Modi had been passed to her, and she was the rightful queen. For thousands of years, when a queen dies, the spirit of Modi passes to the eldest of the queens daughters."
It was a story that Tia had heard many times growing up. Her sister had told her, and she had told her masters children. But she never thought it would happen to her.
