In front of the hatchling stood a tall man dressed in royal clothes with a crown upon his head, next to him there were a few guards and a single servant. "You were not lying, this really is a dragon hatchling..." the king spoke, as he took a few steps forwards to examine the dragon better, the hatchling in turn scuttling back by instinct only to bump into the iron bars in the back of the cage. The king crouched down, carefully observing the hatchling's frightened form, "Fascinating..." he murmured. "I have never seen a young dragon before, it is hard to believe this little, harmless thing could grow into a fire breathing monster..."
"And for the price of 1000 coins, it can be all yours" one of the kidnappers says. The king gave a frowning glance to the men who were selling him the dragon, to which one of them replied. "Your majesty, surely 1000 coins is a paltry sum for a wealthy man such as you. We have plenty of interested buyers...".
The king stood up and said: "Very well. Servant, give these men their pay" As soon as the king uttered those words, one of the servants who was standing next to him walked up to the dragon hunters. "Please follow me to receive your payment, gentlemen" he says, leading the group of dragon hunters outside of the room. The king dismissed his guards and he waited until the room was empty save for himself and the caged hatchling.
He crouched down closely next to the cage, making the frightened hatchling flee to the other end of the cage. "Do not worry, little thing. I have great things planned for you" he said to the dragon hatchling...
