"It's always nice to have a new dame hatched." His mother, no, that dragon said above him. Looking up at it, he tried to glare, but all he did was rolling to the the side and squeaking again.
"Dammit" he thought to himself.
"Oh that's right!" The dragon said above him, "You don't know what a dame is!" She leaned in close to him and stated "A dame is a female dragon."
Eric began struggling, squeaking as he tried roaring at her mother, no, his enemy...right? As much as she hated to admit it, just seeing the larger dragon made Eric feel safe and loved, but she was her enemy right?
Confused, and focused on sorting out her instincts and her memories, Eric let out a squeak of surprise when her bell you growled. A rumbling laugh from her new mother and a wet *splat* in front of her distracted her. Looking at the ... thing that the mother dragon dropped, Eric saw it was a pile of meat, partially charred of course, sitting in front of her.
Eric didn't want to eat it, but her new instincts and hunger overrode her human mind, and she dove at the meat, eagerly ripping and tearing chunks off and swallowing them whole like a snake. Once her hunger was satisfied, Eric curled up and slept, the full day of hatching and getting her first meal having worn her out.
Looking at the sleeping baby dame, the mother dragon gingerly moved her back into the nest with the other eggs. "What shall I name you?"
