"Why would you be turning into a girl?" asked Jesse, my best friend.
"I don't know what's causing it," I replied. "I just know that's what's happening to me."
"But... but people just don't change their sex like that, man."
"Look at me, dude: I've got a narrow waist, child-bearing hips, I'm wearing my sister's shoes, not to mention the fact that my hair wasn't this long before today."
Suddenly, Jesse's eyes went wide.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, it's nothing. Just... just don't go looking in the mirror."
Naturally, that was the first thing I went to do. In the mirror, I saw that I now had a girl's face. "Still want to tell me nothing's happening?"
"Okay, something's definitely happening. But what do we do about it?"
"I don't know. Maybe, when this thing has run its course, I'll change back." I grabbed my throat. On the last three words, my voice went higher.
"Freaky."
"You're telling me," I replied, my voice undeniably girlish.
