Chapter #5

a necklace with a centaur arrow

    by: Onlyonekey Author IconMail Icon
Suddenly, Emma comes into my room. In her hands, she was holding a necklace. It seemed to be quite ordinary, except for the arrow that was in front.

"Hello brother!" said Emma, giving me her bright smile. I ended up smiling as well. Emma and I genuinely got along much better than most brothers and sisters. That was a pretty good thing we had going on.

"Hello Emma, what is it?" I asked. Emma then handed me the necklace that she brought with her. "Please try it on." she told me.

"Why?" was my simple reply.

"I want to see how it looks on you" she responded.

I sighed to that, Emma was very hard to argue with sometimes. Reluctantly, I hooked the necklace on around my neck. As the cold metal touched my skin, it was as if a shock wave had gone through my skin. It was so weird.

"Well?" asked Emma, her eyes dancing.

"It's nice" I replied, if only to please her. Emma giggled and jumped up and down. "Great, can you come with me then to my room?" she asked me.

I slowly nodded and she grabbed my hand, pulling me along. I really needed to learn how to control her at times. It wasn't too long before she pulled me into her room and ran towards the window. I looked out there and saw the centaur statue that we had in our backyard.

You see, we owned a ranch someways from here. Our family had a bit of a belief in the Roman legends. With that in mind, we had the centaur statue put there for good luck. Emma especially liked it. She loved horses and our ranch and I loved watching her be happy. However, she now had a somewhat sad look on her face.

"The bad people are planning to take our ranch away. They say that we don't have enough money" said Emma.

I had never heard of that although it made sense. We didn't have the necessary funds to keep it going right now. It was in dire straits. It was time for that statue to work its magic as they say. Although, nothing had happened yet. However, Emma seemed to brighten up somewhat.

"Everything is going to be okay, big brother." she said.

I grinned, trying to ignore the slight pain in my stomach still lingering from earlier. "Oh? How so?"

"I asked the centaur girl to send us help." said Emma. "She smiled at me."

"She... smiled at you?" I asked, slowly.

"When a centaur girl smiles, she can help." said Emma. "That is when I found the necklace." she beamed as she then added, "It hanging on your bedroom door."

"Well, I hope your wish comes true." you said, honestly. "I really do, Emma."

With that, you walked away, scratching your chest. "Man, what is wrong with me today?"

You have the following choices:
