As mom casts her curse, she suddenly cools down. "No, not this way. I'm using magic in anger. Think, Natalie, think. Remember your training. What do you expect? I'm keeping such a big secret from him, and he is certainly feeling like he is missing out. Besides, he is a teenager; they're always unpleasant, and its not just John" she thinks wryly to herself. Mom cancels her curse, and you don't know how close you came to being turned into a girl called Jenny.
A few weeks later, your a bit more like your old self, though you still don't know about magic. Mom is relieved she didn't follow through on that spell. She gets a phone call from her sister, Catherine, who sounds frazzled.
"Natalie, I don't know what to do! Tim is driving me crazy".
Mom laughs. Like you, your cousin doesn't know about girls in your family having magic. Unlike you (even when you was his age), he hates them and taunts them whenever possible. "I know. I almost turned John into a girly girl last month" mom says.
"When can't reveal our secret yet, sis. I can't change him, even though he is a jerk. I'm thinking of sending him to 'girl island'" Catherine says.
Mom remains silent. 'Girl island' as witches call it, was set up by the witch council to deal with bad sons of witches. The end result is the boys turning into girls, depending on their behavior. Mom knows someone like you would come out of such a place unchanged, though (possibily) physically changed during your stay (unless mentally changed, the boy changes back), Tim would become a sweet girly girl for sure. She doubted Catherine really wanted that.
