"First of all, Hannah, I am very sorry for the misunderstanding." said mom. Please forget what Hayley and I said to you." she then sternly added, "However, I expect you to take greater responsibility with that book, understand?"

Hannah quickly nodded, now having an idea of the price she would pay if she were careless again as mom then turned to you and Mel. "I am a witch, so is Hayley, you will be one as well, Mel, upon reaching your thirteenth birthday." she said. she and Hayley summoned a small flame to their hand to prove it. "Sadly, only girls can be witches, John can never work magic, unless one of us transforms him into a girl."

Mel grinned at that, looking at you but became confused as you only grinned back at her. Before she could utter a word, though, mom continued to speak.

"Hannah showed signs of early magical talent and begged me for a magic book to study." she said, frowning. "I finally gave in and that proved to be a mistake."

Hannah winced, knowing that mom was still, at least, annoyed with her for losing her book as Hayley took over. "The magic book you will soon receive, Mel, is protected by a curse." she told her. "Any non magic person, boy or girl, who looks into it will be magically absorbed into the pages until they are released by the witch who owns it." she too frowned. "However, the witch must be at least fourteen years old to have enough magical energy experience to free the prisoner... Hannah is seven, do the math."

Both you and Mel cringed at the thought. "That's cruel!" said Mel, angrily. "Why put such a terrible curse on a book!?!"

"The magic book, before the curse, had been known to grant non magic people certain great mental and physical abilities." mom explained. "Thus, the legends of Hercules, Merlin, and so on. If a witch catches a non magic person, say John, peering into the book, she can save him by permanently making him the same age and gender of the last witch to touch the book. In this case, it would have been Hannah."

"However, something protected John from the book's curse." said Hayley. "He was not pulled into the pages, he was somehow accepted as if he were a witch and was able to read it." she then looked at you. "Care to enlighten us, John?"

You smiled. "Since you shared your secret with me, I'll share mine." you said, before adding, "Einstein's Merlin!"

Mom and your sisters all watched in surprise as the washer and dryer soundlessly moved aside and the wall behind then lowered into the ground, revealing a large hidden room below the back yard. Once the door was open, you gently took Hannah's hand.

"Because you nearly got severely punished because of me," you said. "I want you to see this first."

Hannah smiled, teary eyed, then walked with you into the massive chamber. She looked all about in awe at the countess of stations with machines and equipment that all looked like they came from some epic science fiction movie. Hayley and Mel quickly followed and they too were awe struck.

Mom frowned, also gazing upon your laboratory. "Jack, when I get to heaven, I am going to strangle you!" she thought. "You science may be equal to magic but its unstable and dangerous, John could seriously hurt himself!" she sighed wearily then thought, "Well, what's done is done. All I can do from here is try to guide him. I don't want to lose my only son but, if his science proves to be too dangerous, I WILL make him a witch."

Welcome to my laboratory!" you announced proudly. "I am a chaotic scientist!" you paused, smiling. "Please, allow me to also introduce you to my teacher and mentor, Jack."

Mom and your sisters all looked up, surprised to see a full holographic image of uncle Jack walking up to them with a kind smile on his face. "Greetings to you all." he said. "Do not be alarmed or saddened, chaotic science, like magic, can not bring back the dead. I am a computer run holographic representative of the man, Jack Harrison. My soul purpose is to teach, guide, and protect John until he is ready to advance on his own."

"So, as you can all see." you said. "I have not been teaching myself and there are literally hundreds of safeguards in place to protect me and my secret."

A very worried look then dominated your expression as you summoned a pyrokinetic flame to your hand, causing Mel to give a short scream in fright. "I can only hope you will all accept me for who I have become." you said, tearing up. "As I will try to accept you all as witches."

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Your sisters' reactions.

2. Megan and Harry come visiting.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
