Refuse

"No!" you said, sharply. "I will not invade her privacy." you point a finger at her. "If you do, you will have a fight on your hands!"

"Okay, okay!" said Harry, raising his hands. "It was only a suggestion, calm down."

You took a deep breath. "sorry, bro." you said. "But, I respect her too much to do that, or allow someone else to do that to her." you thought for a moment then got an idea. "Follow me!"

You ran towards the hall closet, with Harry quickly following, curious what you were thinking. You opened the closet door and began to hunt though a small number of boxes before finding one marked 'Hayley'.

"Mom saves all the important paperwork on all of us in separate boxes." you explained, looking through the box. "If what Hayley was doing was so important to keep a secret from me, it would be in here."

"Isn't that, technically an invasion of privacy as well?" asked Harry.

You smiled. "All of this is public record." you replied. "Besides, if it is THAT big of a secret, mom would not put it in here and I won't find a thing."

Harry nodded, seeing your logic. Moments later, you find an application to an all girls school with an address marked on the top right hand corner. What caught your eye was that mom's signature was missing. What caused your face to turn pale was an acceptance letter, attached to it.

"How did Hayley get accepted to an all girl's school without mom's signature?" you asked, quietly. your fear began to rise. "Why only her and for only one year?"

"That does sound a little fishy." said Harry, turning pale himself. "What do you think it means?"

"I'm not sure." you said. "I have heard of certain cults pulling stunts like this to recruit new members but I do not see Hayley as one to be duped into something like that."

"It doesn't make any sense." said Harry. then something hit him and he began to panic. "Unless there was a member in her class and she somehow brainwashed her with drugs, slipping into her food or drink."

The thought made you turn completely pale as you jumped up and pulled out Mel's box and began to carefully look through it, your hands shaking. To your horror, you found an application to the same school with mom's signature missing. Unknown to you, mom's signature was there, but magically made to seal a magic contract to teach Hayley, then Mel, magic. Being a boy, you were unable to see it and you were forced to make your own conclusion, which was Harry was right about a cult.

"Someone, somehow, brainwashed Hayley!" you whispered, you face suddenly turning red with rage. "And now, they are forcing Hayley to go after Mel!"

Harry, having feelings for Mel, turned red himself. "Not on my shift!" he whispered angrily. "We have to get Hayley to some help before it's too late!"

"We also have to find a way to keep Mel safe." you added. "Just in case this cult has someone helping her."

Harry swallowed. "Do you think mom is involved in this cult?" he asked.

"I don't know." you said, sadly. "The evidence points against it but she did not seem to be worried that Hayley was gone for a full year with no explanation as to why..."

You kept the applications you found then placed the boxes back before closing the closet door. "This is deep and very serious business, bro." you told Harry. "As the man of the house, it is my sworn duty to protect this family. Are you with me?"

"To the ends of the Earth, bro!" replied Harry, quickly. "Let's call the police and help them bust that cult!"

You shook your head. "That will place a lot of girls, maybe boys too, in danger." you said. "these cults don't care who they kill to keep their twisted ideals alive." you sighed, frustrated. "No, I say we get Hayley to Dr. Thompson and pray she can undo the damage that cult did to her."

Harry nodded, serious."Let's do it."

You and Harry then marched to Hayley's room and waited outside the door for her and Mel to return.

You have the following choices:

1. You: I know you are in a cult!

*Noteb*
2. No one returns: Rescue attempt!

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
