You whip arouns quickly, and give your sister a hug. "Good to see you." you say warmly. Hayley smiles and says that she is glad to be home. "Only just got in myself. My trip was early, so I figured I'd just come here" she says. After general gossip about what has been happening around school, you remember the book you found, and you show Hayley. "I think someone around here interested in this junk" you say laughing, not noticing Hayley's now troubled expression, which passes quickly.
Hayley thinks to herself "How can I tell him? He'd find out sooner or later that girls in this family are witches, but I don't want to hurt him." She starts to cry.
"What's the matter?" you ask concerned. Hayley sobs, but eventually opens up "I just don't know the best way to tell you. I don't want you to be hurt."
'We're not just brother and sister, we're also friends. You can tell me" you say, trying to comfort her.
