"The problem is you and John are too wound up." she said, grinning. "You are beginning to suspect things when there is nothing to suspect, go unwind yourselves and relax." she paused. "Could I offer you two a cup of tea?"
"We don't wish to impose." you said, gripping Harry's arm. "I'm just worried about my family. Hayley vanishes without a trace for a year, I went crazy with worry for her." you frowned. "You can understand that, right?"
Samantha nodded. "I'm sorry, you two are fine boys but I can not allow myself to get involved."
With that, she closed the door, leaving you even more confused and frustrated as you walked away from Samantha's house with Harry following. "Well, that was a bust." he said. "What now."
You racked your brains, trying to figure things out. "This family has a secret they are not willing to share." you said, beginning to fume. "What could it be!?" then a thought came to mind and you smiled. "Maybe we can loosen their tongues by teasing them with our own secret."
Harry looked at you, curious, then smiled. "You want us to be a little less cautious and spark their curiosity." he said. "When we tell them nothing, they might share."
"That's the idea." you replied, not knowing it was a bad one.
Harry nodded. "Okay, I'm in." he said. "We'll have them going crazy by the weekend!"
