The next morning, about twelve hours after Karlose cast his spell to change Janet and her life so that she was more compatible with Paul (a product of him raising her and not her mother raising her), he got a panicked call from Paul.
"Paul? What's wrong, man?" he asked the father over the phone.
"Karlose, I think something's gone wrong."
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"Janet isn't changing. But I am. Are you sure you granted my wish right?"
"I think so. But hold on. Let me check." After about a minute, Karlose got back on the phone. "Oh, man. I'm so sorry. The spell was cast wrong. Instead of making your daughter more compatible to you, I accidentally made you more compatible with her."
"What does that mean?" Paul asked.
"Well, I think that by now you probably know what that means. After all, you called me right?"
There was a pause, then Paul said "I'm turning into a woman. Is that what Janet wants? To be raised by a mother and not a father? Oh no, I'm not turning into Kathren, am I? Please, tell me I'm not transforming into my bitchy manipulative ex-wife!"
