Tantalizing targets as they are the royal houses and museum need planning and time to tackle. The last few days on the road here have starved you and it's probably smarter to start easy in the market and work your way up. Besides the nobility might leave the security of their estates to browse the wares. They'd more than likely have more than a few coins they could be parted with.
You remind yourself not to be too hasty in your move as you survey the market. You pull the hood slightly lower over your face as you gage the depth of the crowd, map escape routes and estimate the cost of goods on display.
The wafting scents of good food and expensive drink flood your mouth with saliva and you swear your stomach roars louder than a wyvern. The buzz from the crowd is frequently called over by vendors advertising their wares and frantic laughter as you pass a slave trader. A crowd of upper-class nobles look on as a woman, clearly dressed to distract, danced her fingers over a half-naked slave bound to a pole and head thrown back in ticklish laughter. The tickler seems to enjoy tormenting him too much for your liking.
You pass a finely clothed merchant, your fourth, flanked by two armed guards as he browses expensive trinkets and exotic oddities, too dear for a commoner to find any value in. They're all guarded. Not that you expected any different but it would have been nice to see at least one stupid or overconfident noble, silly enough to go out alone.
The vendors bombard you with offers sales- the finest weapons and armor, fine wines from Shajan, treasures that are most certainly not forgeries from the deepest depths of Dormduo. Books of magic and power. Exotic spices. Ticklish slaves. "The time of your life," a barely dressed woman winks at the crowd. No idea what the specifics are, but the other scantily clad woman and the long feather she's holding are an indicator. She blows a kiss at you and you blush, smiling back at her. Maybe another time...
With your mental map updated and fairly confident you recall what's being sold and who's worth your time it's finally time to do what you do best.
