You saw a Lynx! A cat! A "small" cat, and yet it dwarfed you by far! Figure for the sake of round-ness and worst-case, an inch to him is 200 feet to you, that creature's animal counter-part on your scale was a 2 foot long midget, but before you it was at least 14000 feet tall, now counting the ears, making him a contender to be 3 miles tall. Most sky-scrapers weren't a 7th of his height, and most states could be crossed in an hour at the pace he had.
Speaking of pace, the creature was closing in fast, even though he may well have just been walking. Every second you were craning your neck higher up to see the top of him. In what seemed an instant, four digitigrade toes towering at least 400, and maybe 700 feet into the sky filled your view. Claws the size of sky-scrapers dominated your view and despite their size, were small enough to pierce your flesh rather than crush it. So low you were that the miniscule distance that the pads held the feet above ground seemed like a cavern to you.
