Link rode as fast as Epona could carry him. How STUPID of him! He'd agreed to help Romani protect her ranch from "them" and he was late!
"Idiot!" Admonished his partner, Tatl. "It's 3am, they'll have definitely invaded by now!"
She was right; they entered the farm and found, to their horror, the ghostlike purple creatures were swarming the ranch, being sent down in waves from a glowing ball of light. Every single one of "them" was heading for the barn, where Romani tried desperately to hold them off. She had gone outside since Link was late.
Link decided to follow her lead and produced his own bow. He attempted to attack, but there were too many of them. For every one of "them" he shot, two more appeared to take it's place. He had to do something...
It hit him. The light! It was their source! He aimed carefully and fired...
...the arrow bounced off harmlessly. The attack, while doing no damage, had clearly angered "them." They all turned their attention to Link, and started to close in on him. He tried to fight them off, but it was in vain. One of them grabbed his arm, two more grabbed his legs, and there was a bright flash...
"What shall we do with him, Commander?" A voice asked.
"Do the same thing we do with all the others who interferein our plans, Lieutenant. Wipe his mind and send him back." Another replied.
"If I may, Commander, I think I have a better idea." A third said.
Oh, Admiral? What would that be?" The commander asked.
"I have been conducting an experiment on what would happen if certain strands of our DNA were to be transplanted to creatures of other species. Our attempts with the bovine we have been abducting have been... less than preferable." The Admiral replied.
"Indeed... so you're saying...?" The commander's voice trailed off.
Perhaps a sentient organism would be best. Take the boy to the operating room and then send him back. We will monitor his progress!" The Admiral said.
Link awoke sometime later. He was in the middle of the Romani field. Tatl was nowhere to be seen. Unbeknownst to him, he was now partly one of "them." This gave him the ability to...
