Chapter #6

Please Don't Leave

Things were back to normal; Hyrule had returned to its peaceful prosperous self and its citizens were safe from Ganondorf's evil threat, all thanks to one young man, Link. This young man journeyed all through Hyrule and even time itself to save the land with his fairy companion Navi and he succeeded so all was well.

No one truly recalled the events of it all except for a select group of people Link himself; because through journeying through time he did save Hyrule but when he returned to his normal time period the events of his victory had yet to actually happen, if they would indeed happen. Along with Link a group of people known as Sages remembered it all; and it was their duty to be sure Ganondorf would not rise again. Each Sage was at some point a good friend of Link, except for the Sage of Light. His childhood friend Saria, his sworn brother Darunga, supposed betrothed Ruto, friends Impa and Nabooru and lastly Zelda.

Each of these people were at their homeland, living life and fulfilling their duties. Link didn't have anymore duties, with Hyrule safe he was done but there was one thing that troubled him. Navi perhaps his greatest friend had left at the end of their journey and with determination Link was preparing to search for her.

He was in front of Hyrule Castle, beside him was a reddish brown horse equipped with a saddle and before him were all of the Sages. This was a farewell meeting, there was no way to tell when or if Link would return.

The young hero stared at his trusted comrades, smiling weakly as he kicked a boot into the dirt. "I guess....this is goodbye."

All of the Sages appeared sad or at the very least unhappy, "Are you sure?" Impa asked.

Link nodded once, "Yeah, I have to find Navi. I just have to."

The goron Darunga stepped forward and stared into Link's eyes, "Are you sure brother? Is this what your heart tells you?"

Again Link nodded, "Yes, with Ganondorf gone Hyrule will be safe. Especially with you guys around. I'm not needed and I feel like I have to go journey looking for Navi.

"Be sure to bring back some treasure!" Nabooru teased, tossing Link a wink.

All Link did was smile nostalgically as he began climbing atop his horse Epona. "Link..." A girl's voice whimpered, looking up Link saw it was Saria who had tears on the edges of her eyes. For a moment it appeared as if she would run towards Link but Ruto and Zelda held her back, each shaking their respective heads.

For a moment Link hesitated, out of all the sages Saria was probably the one he was closest to but his resolve was sound and turning his horse around Link set out; behind him he could hear Saria crying and even Zelda giving a few small sniffles.

That sound haunted him for hours as he traveled, by the end of the day he had reached the edge of Hyrule. Come tommorow he would be away from his homeland but it was night and he needed to rest.

Link's dreams weren't much better than his thoughts for the day, nothing but constant images and memories of Saria, each making Link feel even worse for leaving. His night was spent reveling in this nightmare. Unbeknownst to him in Link's sleep a familar face payed him a visit, but in his nightmares he didn't sense a thing.

The next day Link did something he hadn't done in ages, he slept in; but when he finally did awaken he was shocked by what he saw. It was all familiar, the wooden furniture and floors, the humidity, even the way the air smelled; he was inside a Kokiri hut, but there was one big issue. Unless Link was heavily mistaken this room was massive! Like the kind of room a giant the size of the Deku Tree would reside in.

"I have got to be dreaming" Link muttered, conking himself on the head a couple of times to see if it would help.

Above a familiar voice giggled and said, "Sorry but you aren't the one dreaming. I am and the dream came true!" Tracing the voice Link looked directly above him, above him was the typical Kokiri bed but more importantly Saria was on the bed staring right at him!

Awestruck by the sheer size of his friend Link muttered out pointless jibberish, he had fought ghosts, ghouls but nothing had ever prepared him for this.

Giggling again the giant green haired girl spoke again, her thunderous voice echoing through Link's very being. " I'm sure you wanna know what's going on. To keep it simple I didn't want you to leave, so I did something about it."

"B-but...why like this?"

Saria smirked, even sticking her tongue out teasingly. "Cause you're so stubborn nothing else would've worked! But don't worry, now that you're like this we can be together even if only for a little while."

Nervously Link muttered something that in retrospect he probably shouldn't have. "Doing what exactly?"

The giantess lit up as if this were what she was waiting for " How about....
