wendy is Wary (really)

Wendy screamed again "what have you done with my mother!"

Her mother just stood there for a moment, looking confused. Then, the anger evident on her face, she bellowed "I was always your mother. I was your mother when you took your first steps. I was your mother when you bought your first mini oven. I was your mother when you ate your first strip of bacon. Surely your remember eating your first strip of bacon? It was at 7:05 A.M, ten years ago yesterday." She paused "I AM your mother." she said, really emphasizing the AM.

Wendy stepped back for a minute, considering. She did in fact eat her first strip of bacon ten years ago yesterday. She apologetically whispered "Sorry mom." Recovering, she said "I had a nightmare last night in which you were replaced by a psycho robot. I had to make sure I was not still dreaming . No robot would know when I ate my first piece of bacon. Sorry."

Her mom, hugging her, said "that's okay. If you don't want to eat today, you don't have to. But everyone else will, I assure you."

Wendy responded "thanks".

Her mom then bellowed "John, Crysta, time to eat!"

Her older brother John and younger sister Crysta practically ran down the stairs to eat. Wendy looked them over for a minute. John was still the slender man he always was. But her sister Crysta was not. the Crysta she knew was 100 pounds, tops. This one looked easily thrice that. She decided not to comment on this. Having had to come up with a lie about a dream involving robots to explain her odd behavior to her mother, she did not want to do so again. She said she already ate when her sister asked, and then proceeded to get ready for school.
