Chapter #4

This isn't right, and Veronica's nuts a...

    by: Unknown
Suddenly, you come to your senses, as difficult as it is, you push that beautiful, full body away from you,"NO!...no....no this isn't right." Veronica, in Ms. Holsten's body, is taken aback by this and shoved against a desk. She has a hurt and bewildered look on her face. She stammers, "But....but...I'm BEAUTIFUL!" She begins to sob uncontrollably, seeming to lose it a bit more with every second. "Everybody loves Ms. Holsten, and I'm her now, and I want you!" she protests through the flowing tears.

You're not sure what to do. Suddenly, she brightens up, "Is it just the body?" she asks excitedly. "What?" you respond, still plenty weirded out. You see Veronica step out of the front of Holsten's body, which crumples in a heap to the floor. "Is it just the body?" she repeats, "I can get another body, whichever one you want me in," she pleads as you see the tears still rolling down her face.

"No no, Veronica, you're a nice person, but I don't like you that way, and you can't just go around possessing people...they have their own lives, and it's not right to just take them," you explain.

Veronica pauses for a moment, seeming to maul it over in her mind. "Do you understand what I mean?" you ask her. Suddenly she looks up at you with rage in her eyes, "Yes...yes I understand...I understand that you just make the BIGGEST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE!" she screams and storms out of the room.

You stand there for a few minutes in shock. What would she do now? You glance over at the still-out-cold Ms. Holsten in a heap on the floor. Better to go before she comes to....even after all that stuff about treating people well, it's still awful hard to imagine your having a good explaination as to what the hell just happened, or at least one Holsten would believe.

You walk slowly home in a sort of daze, wondering what Veronica would do. Or was it just a case of temporary insanity or something--would she do anything at all? Would Ms. Holsten remember what had happened? Veronica could be anyone; she could be right next to you, and you would not even have to know about it if she didn't want you to. You open the door to your house and walk in; it's around dinner time, and you smell the sweet aroma of cinnamon rolls, your favorite (must be for desert). You walk into the kitchen and see your mother over the stove. "Hi mom," you say, almost out of energy altogether. "Hi, Tim," she responds, waving to you with an oven mitt still on her hand, having just handled the hot food.
