Red wandered into the forest, skillfully avoiding the poison ivy and brambles that often afflicted her when she was younger. Things had changed a great deal since then; good and bad things. The darkness of the woods at night offered no challenge to Red as she could see perfectly well in the complete absence of light. It was one of the many gifts she received when Valdos made her a Vampire several hundred years ago.
I hope I'm only fashionably late this time, she thought as she jumped over fallen trees and ducked under low-hanging branches. She should have met with Canis over an hour ago but got waylaid by a band of roving bible-bashers. She gave them her opinion of God and Heaven and found no answers to her many questions about the validity of their faith. She can get caught up in arguments, that's for sure. Running into the clearing, their favorite meeting place, she found her confidant kneeling in the meadow, head hung low. She jumped up, flipped in the air and came down right beside her old friend.
"Canis, what is it?" She asked as she put her arm around his broad, dark shoulders.
"Hunters. They come for me." Canis nodded back behind him, "Getting closer."
"Then we shall stand together Brother and lay waste to the mortals!" she rose to her feet only to be pulled back down by her large hairy friend.
"Stay low, they have magic with them," his gaze fell to the wound on his abdomen.
"Canis, you're hurt! Let me see to that." She reached for him but a noise from behind startled the crimson-haired beauty.
"Shit. They're here. I can take them! Their magic would be of little use to them matched again my speed." Red stiffened as bravery overtook her.
"No," Canis grunted, pain seeping through his tough exterior personality. "We must run... Now!"
Moderator's note.
I like this storyline, however, if you think of something else, options 3-5 are for you. Just remember, leave Other as an option for others to make their own personal differences to this remake of this clasic childhood story
