It was a normal day for Jessica Davies. She was a redhead girl who liked ponies, princesses and other type of things, however, everything was about to change today. She was walking back home from school when she heard a crashing near her, Jessica saw a group of men in protective suits, collecting barrels that dropped from a truck.
"Kid, get out of here! This thing is toxic!" One of them warns her.
Jessica walks backwards and trips over a puddle, but none of the men or Jessica herself noticed that one of the barrels was leaking and it was located next to the puddle.
A few hours later, Jessica was watching TV in her house, not realizing that something was happening to her body, she was already missing some inches from her height.
"Jessica, I'm leaving to the airport. Your father is waiting for me." Her mother says.
"Okay. How long are you staying with my grandparents?"
"Probably the whole weekend. But don't worry, I called your babysitter."
"Mom." Jessica groans. "I don't need a babysitter."
Both hear someone knocking on the front door. "Sorry, Matt is already here. Besides, aren't you two friends?"
"We are, but.."
"Then, no buts." Her mom leaves and Matt gets inside.
"Hi, Jessica. How are you?" Matt appears, holding a board game.
"Hi, Matt." She rolls her eyes. "I can't believe my mom."
"What? You don't want me here?"
"I do. It's just that my mom thinks I'm a baby and she hired you. We are only two years apart." Jessica sighs. "I just want to hang out."
"Then, how about this? I won't take your parent's payment and we can spend these days as a sleepover."
"I like your idea." Jessica smiles. "I'm going to take a shower and I'll be right back."
"And where is Princess?" Matt asks.
"She is taking a nap around here. Don't give her kibble, she already ate some."
