Chapter #5

Runaway Giant

    by: Kitz Author IconMail Icon
Curiosity overcame my first incentive to shrink Brian. I readied the remote, this time knowing what the target was. A light shot out of the remote and surrounded itself around Brian. The light was faint, but the people near him gasped at the quick aura around him.

In an instant, Brian was well on his way to another growth spurt. His growth was faster than I expected and it surely caught the crowd by surprise as well. They ran in different directions, trying to get away from the man's expanding body. I soon realized that my curiosity was going to have severe consequences as Brian's growing stature seem to rise faster every second. The growth alone was causing damage to near by houses that I could only hope were evacuated.

Brian must of known the damage he was doing to the neighborhood as he tried to get up without causing too much damage. I peaked and gasped at the crater that his body left on the ground. What made me even more surprise was that his feet alone were getting wider and larger than the crater he left behind as time passed by.

The growth seem to subside as I saw his growing body stop inching closer to my house. And it was not a moment too soon; if it had continued, I was sure I would have to escape from my own home. Once the panic of my home being destroyed by Brian's growth was gone, I took a look at him.

I thought he was big before, but his new size proved me wrong. His feet that were once size of cars were now larger than some of the homes here. He could easily stomp on one of these houses without trouble. I couldn't even begin to imagine what his height really was now. I continued to gawk at him and his naked body. It took me a while to process it, but this was indeed a giant looming over the neighborhood without a single fabric on him.

Brian's shock must of surpassed his modesty as he let everything 'hang' out. Although it was an inappropriate time, my eyes could help but linger at the sight of it. His booming voice, however, shook me out of my gutter mind and made me realize what I have done. Brain was more than capable of destroying the entire neighborhood if he wanted to. But that thought didn't seem to cross his mind as I heard him say, "It's not safe for me to be here...."

My confusion turned into fear as I saw Brian make some significant movement for the first time since he grew. I was afraid not because of he had ability to crush my home in one trip, but because he was moving away from the neighborhood. What was only a few strides to him was miles for me. I would never be able to catch up to him as it was now. I looked at the remote and tried to make the adjustments to shrink.

By the time I finished adjusting the remote, Brian was, surprisingly, out of my reach and soon out of my sight.

You have the following choices:

1. I made a desperate attempt to reach him

2. I told myself it will be fine and try to let it go
