Mystery Hunt!

You had never been the cunning one, but you formulate a "clever" plan.

"Hey, Winnie, there's an intruder over here! The intruder was watching us wrestle; we could get caught! Let's go catch him!"

"You're right!!"

She sprints back over the moat with ease, and chases around the trees. You join in, and the hunt begins!

"Hey you, shadow, come on out! We won't hurt you if you show yourself," you holler.

"It's not funny to hide from a werewolf, buddy," Winnie retorts!

Your eyes catch a snippet of the shadow's trail, and both of you climb up the tree.

"GOTCHA!!"

Both of you definitely have a hold on something, but what is it?
