Frank sat alone behind the counter of a small gun store located deep inside the Bitterwood city mall, perhaps the only safe place left in the entire city. Frank had first found out about the recent zombie outbreak many days ago when the zombified remains of a group of girl scouts broke into his appartment building. Shortly after they appeared the whole building and everyone in it except Frank were either dead or a zombie. Frank had managed an escape by nothing less then a miracle. He remembered shooting at least 2 people with his brothers revolver during his escape, the rest was mostly a giant horrible blur. Frank was shaking, he had killed two people, zombified or not, he had taken two human lives. He checked the revolver to see how much ammo was left, 3 bullets. For a brief moment Frank contemplated suicide, but what would that solve? It wouldn't bring those people back. It would simply add another body to the growing count, and Frank had witnessed enough death to last him a lifetime. He sat up, wiped the fresh tears from his eyes and placed the revolver back in the gun holster on his belt. He knew he wouldn't last long barricated in a gun store without any food or water so he worked up his courage and decided to leave. He had been isolated in here for 5 days with the only exit covered by boxes, for all he knew all this could be over, maybe the army was rescuing survivors at this very minute. Frank walked over to the door and took down the boxes while trying to keep calm. If there were zombies out there, he would have only his revolver with 3 shots to defend himself with. The gunstore had been cleaned out when he had arrived and only provided shelter along with a few bags of chips and some water bottles he had found stashed in the back in a safe that had been forced open. Frank removed the last box and opened the door slowly. The entire mall was quiet with the only sound coming from the chilling breeze blowing outside. Everything in sight was cast in shadow and disorder, but thankfully there were no zombies in sight. Frank creeped slowly away from the door and started walking towards the fountain in the middle of the vast room. Moonlight shining down from the large windows overhead provided enough light to see which made navigating somewhat easier even though it made Frank feel like he was in some kind of horror movie. After passing an overturned bench while making his way to the fountain Frank saw a directory sitting in the darkness over to his right. It was somewhat hard to read, but there was just enough light for Frank to see all the major nearby locations marked. Nearby stores included a sporting goods store (that may have things Frank could use as weapons or armor), an electronics store (which may have some flashlights somewhere inside), and the food court (hopefully still with food). Where should Frank go?
