Chapter #3

Looking for help?

Shannon Hawking was alone in the shooting range near her house, she was alone, but she wasn't scared. She had fought her way there over the course of 3 days. She had been armed only with a shotgun and vary limited ammo, but was able to conserve it and avoided most of the more dangerous zombies. On her way to the shooting range she had killed 4 Swimmers, a siren, over 30 Beasts, 9 level 2 zombies, and countless level 1 zombies. She had managed to defend her house for 2 days, but then a sumo broke through the downstairs wall and almost leveled the whole house, Shannon was lucky to escape. She didn't have a clue what was going on, but she sure as hell wasn't going to get killed by these monsters. She had spent the past 2 hours looking for more guns and ammo, hoping the place hadn't been cleaned out yet. She was in luck as she managed to find 2 small boxes of shotgun shells and a pistol with 3 bullets left. She was thinking of boarding up the place and seeing how long she could hold out, but she knew she'd be better off looking for other survivers and trying to leave the city before the zombies found her. She was about to gather up her things when she heard a thump at the frount door. She quickly grabed her shotgun and ran over to the door preparing for whatever was on the otherside. The door swung open just as Shannon raised her shotgun and prepared to fire. What stood in the doorway was...a surviver! He had long shaggy brown hair, a thick beard, and had a bad cut on his upper lip. He was wearing a bloodstained hunting oufit along with an orange hat. He himself had a shotgun along with an AK-47 straped around his back and his belt was covered in what Shannon assumed were ammo pouches. Both of the survivers simply stood there for a few seconds with their guns pointed at each other. "For the love of Christ, I could have shot you, you damn fool!" Yelled Shannon as she lowered her gun. "A pleasure to meet you too ma'am. The name's Ray." The man responded as he lowered his gun as well. "Mine is Shannon." Just as the two were about to walk inside there came a loud noise that seemed to come from the forest off to the south...the zombies are getting closer...
