The door probably wasn't unlocked so Betty decided to see if she could find a way into the main room from upstairs. From what she could tell all the footsteps were coming from the ground floor so she'd have to find a way back down once she got there. The entire factory was falling apart and covered in rust, but it sure beat wandering around on the rainy streets outside. "I just need to make sure I get a tetanus shot after this is all over..." Betty said as she leaned against the upstairs door and looked through the window. She didn't think there would be any zombies in here, but it never hurt to be cautious. The walkway was clear and out of the corner of her eye she could see a few moving shadows on the ground floor. "Thank god, hopefully they'll help me..." Betty whispered as she slowly opened the door and walked out onto the rickety walkway. She began looking for a way down when a loud explosion sounded from the floor below her and several bodies were flung through the air. "How'd you like that grenade, you undead pieces of shit?!" A voice shouted over the enraged growls of about a dozen angry zombies.
"Oh shit!" Betty cursed as she ran over to get a better view of what caused the explosion. "Did the zombies break through the wall?!" She yelled over the sound of machine gun fire. Below her was about 7 or 8 people getting blow away by a man in a hockey mask. "KILL HIM!!! KILL THAT LITTLE BASTARD!!!!!" The still living ones shouted as they tried to surround him. "Oh my god, I've got to do something..." Betty whispered to avoid alerting the crazed mans attention. "She quickly began looking around for a set of stairs and ran down the first she could find. By the time she had reached the scene of the massacre, however, all that was left was the lone man reloading his now empty gun. "Hold it right there, you damn Mimic!" He growled when he noticed her. "I'm not letting any of you get away after what you did to my grandfather!" The gun clicked and the man leveled it with Betty's chest. "Wait, don't shoot me, please! Why are you doing this?!" She moaned as she took a step back.
The man took a few steps closer and looked into her eyes from behind the mask. He then lowered his gun once he heard her heartbeat. "You... you're not one of them... are you?" He asked in a confused tone as tears began forming in Betty's eyes. "Why? Why are you here if you're not a Mimic?!" He then asked in a more upset tone. "Please... I have no idea what you're talking about... What's a Mimic and why did you kill all those people?" Betty replied as she backed up against a broken down piece of machinery. "Those people? You really don't know what a mImic is? God, you must have been hiding somewhere for these past few days. Anyway, those people you saw were all really zombies. They just look like they are still alive, but their wounds and lack of a heartbeat give them away. Now tell me, why the hell did you come to this factory, didn't you know it was full of Mimics?" Betty shook her head and began to feel stupid. If he hadn't shown up, she would've walked right into a fatal trap. "I'm sorry..." She said as she wiped away some of her tears.
