The camera was all about bringing to life the thoughts and desires of the person holding it. When they focused those thoughts and desires into a picture it could bring to life exactly what they thought of. But, thoughts running loose inside the mind when the picture was taken would fuel the camera to do what they secretly desired, regardless of their plans.
And so, since Dennis had let his mind run through the amazing possibilities of what the camera could do at the moment that he took the picture of his new apple tree, the camera bestowed it's power on the tree - the apples carried inside them the fantasies of Dennis. And so, anyone who ate an apple would become what Dennis wildest fantasy about them would be.
A sweet girl would become a powerful protector, a mean girl would become a terrible bully. And the more beautiful and strong the girl was when she at the apple, the more the apple would do to her - because these traits would inspire the fantasies of Dennis. Dennis didn't realize that by taking the picture of the tree he had effectively done everything he could have thought of doing. The only difference between taking a picture of all the women and girls he'd seen and taking a picture of that tree was that Dennis didn't get to be there when his fantasies played out. He was well on his way home when the first woman approached the tree.
Dinah had been casting glances at the tree from where she stood cheering on the arm wrestlers. It had been an impromptu thing following practice over at the college. The players and cheerleaders had been walking through town to a favorite bar when the guys saw the picnic tables and had come up with the idea for an arm wrestling match. Like most of the cheerleaders, Dinah was still in uniform at the moment and she knew very well how good she looked in it. She might not have the legs of Stacey, or the breasts of Tori, or the fitness of Cleo - but when you've got a body that comes second in each of those individual areas, it's not surprising that the whole package is considered the hottest at the school.
She was sure that when she'd entered the park the tree she was looking at had not been worth considering, but every time she'd looked at it since she couldn't help but be amazed by how amazing the apple's hanging from it looked, Finally, the succulent appearance of the apples and a hunger built from the arm wrestling match delaying a trip for food overcame her and she took a quick stroll over to the tree to grab an apple.
She smirked at how her breaking away from the pack and becoming more visible had distracted a group of boys from picking on the young girls with them, and a group of construction workers from catcalling some business woman. She loved the power she had over men - but particularly hated when their macho egos overrode their need to make her happy. She snatched an apple off the tree glaring at the group arm wrestling. This was one of those instances - her boyfriend and his cronies trying to prove who was the biggest and strongest instead of taking her out for drinks and showering her with affection like they were supposed to.
As she took a bite of the apple she was an image of beauty, fury and unapproachability - she would have driven Dennis nuts with fantasies because she came close to filling a few of his tamer ones just standing there in uniform. This is why she became
