Bec couldn't believe her eyes. Where her mother used to be sitting, there was now a man. She looked at what she had done on the device. She went back to her room to look at the manual.
"The Gender setting will transform the subject into their gender opposite. All, one, or a combination of the following options can be changed.
Body - Men will be transformed into women, and vice versa. Unlike real-world sex-change operation, their sexual organs will be fully functional upon change.
Hair - If used, the hairstyle will change to suit the gender, and the amount of body hair will also change.
Makeup - Women usually wear lipstick, mascara, eyeshadow and/or rouge. Men will usually have facial hair.
Clothing - If used, the clothing will transform with the subject, feminizing or masculinizing, depending on the transformation. If unused, the subject's sense of style will remain the same.
Sexual orientation - If the subject is sexually attracted to men, the change will change their sexual preferences to women, and vice versa. If the subject is in a sexual relationship with someone else, their relationship will become platonic after the change. This setting has no effect on bisexuals."
Rebecca was of course relieved to find out that this would have little effect on her parents' relationship. Her dad could be home, but now he and her now masculinized mother would be together as if they were a couple - they just wouldn't be having sex. Since she herself went both ways, she knew it would have no effect on her sexual orientation.
She went back to the living room, looking at the device. She had changed her mother's gender, all right. She now had a small beard. However, her hair, clothing and sexual orientation remained feminine.
"Hello...mum?" said Bec, confused.
"Hey Bec."
"Whoa, you actually still consider yourself my mother?"
"Well, I wear women's clothing, I like guys, so yes."
"But how can you be my mum? You can't have given birth to me, you don't have the...equipment."
"I told you, you and your other sisters were adopted. I'm not in a sexual relationship with your dad. Although some days I wish I was."
