...mind staying over here with me for the rest of the summer?"
His request catches you off guard. You didn't expect him to ask this>
"I know its alot to ask," Tony continues, "But I really appreciated you coming over here last night to play video games, and then having breakfast with me this morning. Its been terribly lonely here with Megan gone, and its nice to have some company again, especially since you were so close to her. You're someone that I feel I can be comfortable with, and it'll be nice for you to help me get through all this."
You ponder this request. You really weren't planning on spending the entire summer here. You had made other plans. On the other hand, though, Tony does seem less depressed now that when you first came over. He must have been devastated when Megan died, and it makes you happy that you are able to brighten his spirits. Besides, you know Megan would want you to make sure that her father was happy in any way possible.
"Well Tony, you really but me on the spot" you say, "But I'll do it."
"That's great."
"Anyway," you state, "I'm going to need to go back home today to get all of my things I'm going to need for the summer, and to make sure that there aren't any loose threads before I leave for the summer. I'll try to be back before you come home from work."
"I understand." Tony replies, "And listen, I was thinking about earlier when you were talking about wanted to have something to remind you of Megan. Instead of staying in the guest room, why don't you just stay in Megan's room? I imagine you will need some space to put your things, but you can just put some of Megan's things in the hallway closet to make space for yours."
"Thanks Tony, that would be really nice."
"Okay, now I really gotta go. See you tonight John."
