Carolyn and Laura met on the eve of their birthday, which by great coincidence was the same day and time, at their mutual friend Sandy’s house for the party. Sandy had managed to convince her parents to allow her, the two girls, and a few other friends to have a party late into the night as long as they didn’t break any laws. There was music, beverages, and everything was going great, Carolyn even managed to get some romantic ground with Sandy’s older brother.
“Hey Sandy, thanks for doing all this for me and Carolyn. We really appreciate it.” Laura said as she refilled her soda on the kitchen counter.
“No problem Laura. And besides, with both of you born at the same time it’s easy to give you guys a party at the same time.” Sandy said with a smile.
Laura headed back into the living room where everyone was seated or dancing to the music. She was passing the dancers when she collapsed unexpectedly.
“Laura! Are you alright?” Carolyn called out as she jumped off the couch and went to Laura’s side.
“I… I think so. I don’t know why I did that. Oh sorry about the rug.” Laura apologized when she realized she spilled her soda.
