Maria sprinted as hard as she could to catch up to Grunyar. "Hey!" She shouted, out of breath from trying to keep up with him. "Slow down a bit would ya? I can't run that fast!" Grunyar glanced back, then slowed down to a walking pace so she could catch up. When she finally caught up she bent over and placed a paw on his shoulder. "Jesus!" She said between pants. "How do you move so fast in that armor?" Grunyar smiled. "I've worn it for most of my adult life, it's become almost like a second skin to me." He said, looking down at her through his visor. After she caught her breath, they both began walking towards the mixed smell of meat and cakes.

After a couple minutes of silence, Maria spoke. "Hey, can I ask you something? Why do you live with elves since you're-ya know-a Wolf?" She looked up at him when she said this, the setting sun making the shadows under his visor dark enough to where she couldn't see his face. He turned his head towards her, his cheery demeanor suddenly gone. "I was 6 when my father and mother were murdered along the main road, bandits ambushed our caravan and slaughtered everything." He said, turning his head back toward their destination. "I only survived because Lemidas, my adoptive father and the head of this elven village, led a group of them to drive off the bandits. They took me in and raised me as one of their own and I like to believe that they see me as much an elf as a wolf." He sniffed slightly, then shook his head. "But the past cannot be changed, there is only the future to look forward to!" Maria looked down at the ground. "I'm sorry, I didn't know." Grunyar patted her back. "It's alright, how could you have known? But on a happier note I assume you wish to know how I stayed in the trees with this armor?" Maria nodded. "Well," Said Grunyar, adjusting his sword. "It's like I said, this armor is a second skin to me!" He let out a big laugh and pulled off his helmet. "We are almost there, come! You must meet my family!"

As the two of them walked into the elven village, the sound of music floated through the air along with the smell of various delicious foods. The only light other than the moon was the large bonfire in the center of the village, its blue flame magically lit in order to spare the trees. A crowd of elves gathered around the two as the entered, all were speaking to Grunyar and eyeing Maria suspiciously, speaking to Grunyar in their own tongue and pointing to her. After he (apparently) re-assured them, the elves led them both to a large hall. Outside of this hall stood a tall elf who looked as though he had seen most of his life pass with much adventure. "Grunyar!" He shouted, embracing the wolf. "It is so good to see you my son!" "Father, I only left this morning." Replied Grunyar, blushing a little bit and hugging Lemidas back. "I know my son!" Said the elf, laughing. "But any minute without your lightheartedness feels like a millennia! But come, come! I see you have brought a guest to our feast!" Maria, realizing that she was being referred to, bowed. "What is this?" Said the elf, letting out more laughs. "We do not require this formality! We just require you to eat something!" Maria stood up. "Thank you." She said, stepping inside.
