“As a matter of fact there are others people on this island, people your size I might add.” Loretta said.
“They’re not cannibals or headhunters, are they?” Tanya asked nervously.
“Nah, not enough outsiders come here, which makes those lifestyles useless. The only thing you might have to worry about is that they’re, as one might say, pagan.” Loretta said shaking her head.
“Really? Who do they worship?” Tanya asked, she suspected that the natives probably worshiped several gods like most other pre-Christianity faiths, but she was curious as to which god or gods.
“Me” Loretta replied proudly.
“I beg your pardon?” Tanya asked, not sure that she heard Loretta correctly.
“They worship me, silly.” Loretta said with a giggle.
“You’re not going to make me worship you too are you?” Tanya asked, her nervousness returning again.
“Not unless you want to.” Loretta replied.
Weeks went by as Loretta took care of Tanya. Loretta confirmed Tanya’s fear that rescue was nigh impossible; ocean currents and jagged rock formations that surrounded the island, except for a corridor that lead to other similar islands, effectively isolated the island from the rest of the world.
