Sylvia walked into math class and sat down. The teacher started the lecture, and she got her notebook and pencil out. She hated math, and she always felt like this class was difficult and boring.
After thirty minutes had passed, the teacher allowed for the students to get into small groups in order to work on a problem. Jacob, a geeky boy with glasses and short, black hair, pulled his desk facing Sylvia's and he said hi to her.
"Hi, Sylvia! Would you like me to help you out with the math problem?" Jake said to her.
"Yeah... I don't understand any of this line equation mumbo-jumbo..." she sighed. "it's all Greek to me..."
"It's not so hard! Here, look over here, at my notebook. The teacher didn't explain it right. Let me show it to you in such a way, you'll never forget it..." the boy explained cheerfully.
Using his pencil and a notepad with grid-paper, Jake patiently explained the concept to her, along with examples. He answered all her questions, and then he asked her some questions, just to see if she understood everything.
"Oh! That makes sense!" Sylvia replied. "Thanks!"
"My pleasure... I'm really good at math..." Jake replied shyly.
"You're such a geek... You look like it too... With those big glasses.... I bet you look great without them..." Sylvia whispered.
Jake removed the glasses, but then he squinted his eyes.
"Uhhh... I'm as blind as a bat...."
"What a shame! You're so cute! I wish you had 20/20 vision, Jake...." Sylvia said to him.
Suddenly, her necklace tingled. Jake felt a warm feeling in his eyes. Immediately, his vision was corrected, and he was able to see clearly without his glasses!
"Whoa!!" he gasped out loud. "I can see!"
"Of course you can, silly!"
"No! I mean... I can see without my glasses!" Jake said excitedly.
Then Jake put his glasses on, and everything was blurry. he immediately took them off again.
"You're so cute... and so smart... " Sylvia laughed. "It's so nice of you to help me with my math problem...."
"Yeah, but... That's all I got to offer... Just brains... Nothing more... I'm just a geek... Not a jock... " Jake said sadly.
"No need to be huge, Jake... A nice guy like you? You just need a nice chest and nice guns..." Sylvia giggled.
Immediately Jake felt a tingling sensation in his muscles...  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
