Ten years.
It's been ten years since the day Sarah and her friends sliced you into bits and each of them took part of you home. In that time, your family has moved away. You saw the moving truck one day a few years back, and asked Sarah what it was all about. She told you that, apparently, your dad had gotten a job in another country, and that the whole family was moving in order to stay together. When you asked why they were leaving without you, she explained that it had been years since they last saw you, and so they had assumed you were dead. You sank into a depression for a few months over that, but you eventually got over it.
Sarah and her friends have also started a club, centered on the guillotine that Sarah took from your garage, and with Sarah in charge. Every now and then they use it to swap parts with each-other, and to temporarily remove parts of themselves. As you understand it, new members have to spend two weeks divided up as parts at the central meeting place. After that they have to 'donate' someone close to them. All of the 'donations' are chopped into bits by the guillotine and used as spare parts by the various members of the club. Most of the new members donate pets (like dogs, ferrets, and cats), but some bring in friends and family. At first it was only girls who were allowed to join, but eventually the founding members (that is, everyone who took one of your body-parts) decided to allow boys to join as well. The added company helps to keep you from feeling too bad about your situation, and it's kind of fun to watch the various animal pieces interact.
Nowadays, the founders use your parts to symbolize their position within the club, although sometimes one of your hands will be used to grab something just out of reach, and you're pretty sure that the pieces of your torso are used as pillows. One of the interesting things you've noted about the founding members is that, while they have aged appropriately for ten years, you appear to be the same age as you were when you were first divided. You're pretty sure that your slow aging is the result of being in pieces. Speaking of pieces, once a year, on your birthday, the founders get together and reassemble you. You get to spend the whole day doing whatever you want. They still disassemble you afterwards, but the lack of responsibilities makes up for that pretty well.
Additionally, you found out a few years ago that one of the founders, a woman named Alexis, has had children using your disembodied manhood. A pair of twins named Eric and Sally. Apparently, a few weeks after they were born, it was discovered that the two of them could come apart naturally. Again you're pretty sure that this is because you yourself are divided into pieces. Every once in a while you get to visit them, and the three of you always have a good time.
So all in all, things could have turned out much worse considering your situation.
