This choice: They decided to move on to another setting • Go Back...Chapter #11Blah Blah Blah, Pika-Pi, Malkovich Malkovich... by: Switcheroo ![Author Icon](https://images.Writing.Com/imgs/writing.com/writers/costumicons/ps-icon-regular-10.gif) "Blah blah blah," David wondered, confused by their new 'language'. "blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah?"
"Blah blah blah," Amanda guessed, "blah blah? Blah-blah-blah, blah blah."
"Blah blah blah blah blah," Rachel opined.
"Blah blah blah," David suggested.
"Blah blah blah blah blah blah," Amanda decided, toying with the device.
"Blah blah blah blah?" David asked.
"Blah blah blah..." Amanda answered.
"Blah blah-blah blah blah," Rachel said, "blah blah blah pika-pi." Rachel blinked. "Pikachu?"
"Pika pika?" David asked.
"Pikachu Pikachu!" Rachel noted, laughing as she realized Amanda had taken notes from her Pokemon idea, only having 'pikachu', 'pika,' and 'pi'. Around them, they could hear the distant 'blah's change to fit.
"Pikachu pi pika," Amanda said, "pi pika pi pi Pikachu." She had taken note it wasn't quite how Pikachu talked.
"Pika pi Pikachu pika," David observed, "pi pikachu pika pika Pikachu."
"Pikachu pika, pika pi Pikachu pi," Rachel suggested, making Amanda smack herself in the head.
"Pika!" Amanda exclaimed, to the other two's amusement. How did she forget to add 'Chu' to the list of words!?
"Pikachu pi pika Pikachu," David started, "pika pika pikachu pika pi Pikachu Malkovich Malkovi... Malkovich!?" David then laughed, realizing Amanda had shifted things to his comparison.
"Malkovich Malkovich?" Amanda asked.
"Malkovich," Amanda answered. "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich."
"Malkovich!" David said, showing Amanda and Rachel the menu, or as it now called itself, the Malkovich, which amused David with how it was almost the same as the movie, listing everything as 'Malkovich'!
"Malkovich?" Rachel asked.
"Malkovich Malkovich," David told her, "Malkovich Malkovich!"
"Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich," Rachel admitted.
"Malkovich Malkovich!?" David exclaimed.
"...Malkovich?" Rachel confirmed.
"Malkovich, Malkovich Malkovich!" David resolved, officially making Being John Malkovich their next movie night.
"Malkovich Malkovich," Amanda began reminding them, "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich?"
"Malkovich," Rachel said, back in the moment. "Malkovich Malkovich?"
"Malkovich Malkovich," David said, "Malkovich Malkovich?"
"Malkovich..." Amanda contemplated.
"Malkovich Malkovich!" Rachel added. "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich!"
"Malkovich, Malkovich," Amanda reassured Rachel. She thought there probably was a way to give everybody his head and voice to complete the 'experience', but Rachel not being so keen on the idea was a strike against it. But it might be interesting to try and copy parts of somebody besides John Malkovich onto everybody. "Malkovich Malkovich, Malkovich Malkovich?"
"Malkovich," Rachel said, seeming to be more okay with that idea.
"Malkovich Malkovich," David began, "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich-Malkovich?"
"Malkovich," Amanda said. They did, indeed, have a lot of other ways to warp reality than changing genders and limiting people's vocabulary, though this was pretty fun. "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich, Malkovich Malkovich."
"Malkovich Malkovich," Rachel said, holding a hand to her forehead. "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich..."
"Malkovich Malkovich?" Amanda asked.
"Malkovich Malkovich," Rachel answered.
"Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich," David added, "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich."
"Malkovich," Amanda replied. "Malkovich Malkovich Malkovich, Malkovich Malkovich." On the one hand, it was fun to make everyone only able to communicate with a single word, but changing languages thrice was making Rachel's head hurt. Maybe she could get used to it and they could keep toying with language, but maybe they could just switch back to English... or just keep speaking Malkovich. No matter how they spoke, though, there was the question of if they wanted to try out any non-language settings before they had to catch the train. Coming to a decision, Amanda said... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
