You felt as if you were facing some divine judgment with the way Jake's gaze was focused so intensely on you, even if he was actually squinting just to be able to see you. The difference in size was such that your mind played a trick on you and you felt as if your friend, who you knew was a bit of a dumbass, suddenly knew everything about you, from the things you didn't like about him from the way your life developed even before knowing him at all. Although maybe that was just the desperation talking, because the glint in his eyes and the smirk that he gave you were telling you what the outcome of this judgment was going to be.
You were doomed.
You didn't know if you should run away from him, fall on your knees and beg for mercy, jump and shout to see if he somehow hears you or what else to do, and you didn't have time to decide as Jake delivered the verdict and started to move his titanic body.
"Fucking bugs" a deep voice from above sentenced and you once again get to see how one of Jake's legs raises slightly, creating a slight breeze as the massive structure hovers fully above you and lets you see once again the blades of grass, the piece of gum, the mangled ants.
You now knew you wanted to run as much as you could to try and evade the inevitable crush but your body wasn't responding, probably understanding the futility of the task, even if Jake took his time to slowly bring the sneaker down to the floor and started to grind the sole against the floor for good measure.
Even if Jake was taking things slowly, the sheer force of the giant sneaker closing in on you and making contact with your shrunken body was too much to handle and rendered you unconscious, unaware of the exact moment you would lose your life or would somehow find a miraculous way to survive your friend's powerful attack on your ant sized being.
===
Jake didn't bother checking on whatever remains you left on the floor, on his shoe, or on whether the tiny you he just squished was nothing but a product of his imagination, he was satisfied with being able to do so. All was left to do was to pick up the crystal and tell Eric you were nowhere to be found.
