But apparently you didn't have to know just yet. You shrugged it off and headed back up to your mom, and you made it inside just as your phone starting ringing. You answered it. "Yo!" It was your best friend Steven, who was also 14, and he wanted to know if you wanted to go down to the beach for the day, that was a proposition that you never turned down.
"Yeah sure dude, I'll meet you down there okay" you told Steven, before hanging up.
Leaving your door slightly ajar had been a mistake. Your sister Melissa popped her head around the corner. "Let me guess, you're going to the beach...AGAIN!" Melissa laughed, poking fun at your 'hanging out' place. "You know there are a lot more less public places that you and your loser friends could hang out at, she then teased you.
"Maybe we like being around other people...bitch!" you responded with a forced smile.
"Yeah right, assface!" Melissa spat, before disappearing.
"Why do older sisters have to be such..." you began grumbling, before just letting out a sigh. You then got to your feet and started getting changed into your blue beach shorts and a white t-shirt, as well as your socks and sneakers. 15 minutes later, and another verbal exchange with Melissa downstairs, you left the house and headed off in the direction of the beach. It was about a 10-minute walk.
