As he took in his surroundings, his breaths evened. He was okay.
For now. His thoughts gleamed, and he resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
Steven got up and passed by the futon. Chad was still fast asleep. A soft smile graced his features.
"My dumb scientist," he said quietly, making a U-turn for the bathroom.
The first thing he noticed when he walked in was that the door frame was closer. Like, way closer. Steven shrugged. He must've been on his toes or something.
The college senior flexed his feet. Nope - they were firmly planted.
Okay, that wasn't supposed to happen.
A shiver went up his spine. His brain started recalling the events of the dream, and the student found that he couldn't push the feeling that this had to do with it. He looked down at his feet. The heels were jutted out of his slippers.
Had they always been this big? He once again chose to ignore it. He had been in the hospital after all, maybe they put him on something.
Or you're bigger. A thought supplemented. He frowned at the implication. Chad was a scientist, and said that it would probably be okay. Steven shook his head, opting to do his morning routine instead of thinking about it longer.
But as he continued his routine, his mind continued to dance around the subject. Hadn't he worn Chad's clothes to bed? Sure they were comfy (and bigger), but that didn't seem to matter this morning. Maybe Chad had swapped them while he was sleeping.
