Chapter #6

Not so evil

    by: Clockwork Author IconMail Icon
Felix was in total shock at what just happened. He thought that the dridder was going to end his miserable life right then and there, but instead it let him go. He knew that it was thinking of eating him when it was walking toward him from the way it looked at him licking its lips. So why?

Felix just stared up at the giant dridder, completely unaware of the passing time or even the fact that he was still on the other side of the line, as he pondered why the dridder that was supposed to be an evil blood thirsty killer without remorse would spare his life. Even if it did have the food he brought it, it could have still just wrapped him up to save for later.

Suddenly Felix's eyes opened wide with realization. "Did it, spare me because I begged for my life? But how? Even if it does have mercy in its heart, it's from another world, or at least that's what Lord William said, so how could it understand me? Wouldn't it have a different language? Well, I guess there is only one way to find out," Felix thought as he worked up the courage to speak.

"E-Excuse m-me but c-c-can you understand me?" Felix asked. The dridder only gave a slight nod as a response. "A-Are you sparring me?" Felix asked as the dridder leaned in a little toward him but stopped when Felix took a few steps back. Again he got a single nod as a response from the giant spider girl. "So you don't plan on eating me?" Felix asked with worry in his voice. At this the dridder just lowered and shook her head.

Felix felt a lot better with the dridder's answer to his last question but still felt fear of this giant dridder that could so easily end his life. "Can you talk?" Felix asked.

"Yes I can. I'm sorry, I just had a bad day. My name is Arachne, what's yours?" she asked with the same uneasiness that Felix had in his voice.

"I'm Felix," Felix replied as a little more tension lifted from the two.

Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door that caused both Felix and Arachne to practically jump out of there skins. "Hey slave, you dead in there!?" shouted one of the guards that stood at the door.

"I-I'm fine, I just got caught in the webbing for a moment. I'm free now," Felix answered as he held his right hand over his pounding heart.

"Ha! you owe me 5 silver coins!" shouted the other guard.

The first guards grumbled and shouted, "Well hurry up, slave, you have other things to do."

As the sound of the coins clinging when they were handed over was heard in the cell, Felix just dropped his head. The guards had heard his cry for help and only made a bet as to whether or not he would live through it. Felix then jumped over the webbing and dragged the remaining deer into Arachne's reach. Just then...

You have the following choices:

1. Arachne asks Felix whats going on.

2. Some men come in to (Train) Arachne into submission.
