Utterly bored you scan the horizon of the floor, searching for your mothers jewelry, there was none to be found.
"Nothing here." You mutter.
"Keep looking hunny. Its a big toe ring." Your mom reassured with a slight hint of impatience in her voice.
"If it was here I'd definitely see it." You whisper sarcastically.
Despite your witty remarks and belief that Mom's toe ring wasn't there you searched for twenty long boring minutes, finding nothing. You turn around and walk out from underneath the stove, covering your eyes from the surge of light from the flourescents.
"Nothing there, like I said." You mutter in a bored tone.
"Please keep looking!" Mom practically shouted.
(Damn how much does she love this ring?) You thought. "I was just checking, there's nothing there at all. It's perfectly and utterly clean."
Mom's eyes twinged for a second. "Please just keep looking..." Mom repeated, sounding somewhat distant.
"No point." You state rudely with a roll of the eyes.
Mom's eyes twinged again, anger evident within them. Mom stamped her foot into the ground, creating a loud tremor."Don't talk back to me! And I know you didn't just roll your eyes at me mister!"
"She saw that!?" You blurted aloud, caught off guard by the sudden anger.
"Yes I did, just because you're small doesn't mean you can do whatever you want! I need to punish you for being rude." Mom stated, still in a sort of frenzied state.
"Isn't she overreacting a tad?" You whisper to yourself as Mom thought of a punishment.
